Get Involved

Austcare has changed its name to ActionAid Australia For more information please visit the ActionAid website www.actionaid.org.au

Austcare welcomes community involvement from individuals, schools, and other groups.  There are lots of ways you can get involved - by volunteering, becoming a member, holding your own event, or taking part in one of ours.

Recently, a group of Austcare staff and volunteers were joined by performers at Martin Place to raise awareness of the impact that landmines have on so many lives.

Be part of Austcare's next event, or run a fundraiser of your own! We value your participation. For more information, speak to Nadine Torney, on 02 9565 9153, or email supporter.au@actionaid.org

Campaigns

Are you part of a sporting team or other group who would like kids in landmine-affected places such as Cambodia and Afghanistan to be able to play safely?

By supporting Austcare's Playing Fields Not Minefields campaign, you will be helping to reduce the impact of landmines and other explosive remnants of war, creating safe spaces for children to play and families to farm, build houses, and collect water and firewood.

Help us raise awareness of the situation surrounding landmines, and raise funds to help those affected by mines.

Find out how here.

Events

World Refugee Day takes place on June 20. This year, help your friends realise how fortunate they are at the same time as raising money for people less fortunate.

You can do this by hosting a boiled rice banquet - serve people boiled rice, highlighting the poor food choices available to refugees, and ask them to donate $10 to Austcare.

Austcare will provide you with an information pack regarding the current situation surrounding refugees and displaced people around the world.
