WEEK OF ACTION TO BAN CLUSTER BOMBS
19th - 27th April
From the 19th to 27th of April Australia will join a global action campaign to ban one of the most devastating weapons in the world's arsenals, Cluster Bombs.
For more than a year negotiations have been underway to develop new International Humanitarian Law outlawing cluster munitions that cause unacceptable harm to civilians.
The final round of treaty negotiations begin in Dublin in May. This is the world's last chance to get it right.
To raise awareness of this important issue and gather more signatures on our petition, Austcare is helping coordinate Australia's Week of Action.
Around the country we're calling on community groups or anybody who wants to help us ban cluster bombs, to do something during this special week.
Some of the events planned include 'Market Stalls Against Cluster Bombs', a day featuring speakers and entertainers adjacent to Hobart's famous Salamanca Markets, while at Melbourne's legendary Hi Fi Bar the 'Clusters Busters' gig will give alternative music fans their chance to get involved.
To make it easy we've created a resource pack that allows you to simply download everything you need from our website. From event posters, to petition templates and survivor stories it's all here. All you need to do is go to the page and print what you want.
As Australians we need to stand up and show our Government that we want it to support the strongest possible treaty and help prevent more people from becoming innocent victims.
